Shifts

Patrol 3

The Patrol Division is the backbone of the sheriff’s office and operates 24/7. This division is under the direction of Capt. Lindsey who reports directly to the Major of Operations. At all hours of the day, weekend and on holidays, deputies patrol their assigned districts, respond to calls for service, enforce traffic laws, address subjects of felony and misdemeanor crimes and perform various public service functions. When deputies are not responding to active criminal activity and other calls for service, their time is spent on preventative patrol.

We embrace the Community Oriented Policing (COPS) philosophy and believe that the citizens are our most valuable asset in tackling crime. Without the cooperation of those citizens interested in bettering their community, we would not be able to function properly. The Patrol Division is comprised of several different parts. The bulk of the division consists of four full-time shifts that patrol the entire county and are the first responders to calls for service. They are the most visible in the communities everyday and conduct monthly meetings within each of the ten patrol districts.

Specialized units that fall under the Patrol Division include: K-9, School Resource Officers and the Community Action Team.
