Honor Guard

The Honor Guard is a ceremonial unit compromised of Deputies from all divisions of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.   These Deputies maintain high standards of appearance, conduct, and discipline.  One of the primary responsibilities of the Honor Guard is to provide funeral services for our fallen.  When called upon during a tragic time, these Deputies have to have the strength and fortitude to withstand the emotions that come with tragedy in order to provide support to the families as well as be a beacon representing the agency.   Other activities the Honor Guard participates include serving as guardians of the colors during ceremonies, swearing-in ceremonies, and other various community events.  No matter what services are being provided, everything is done with a purpose.  The Honor Guard and their actions are a direct expression of the core values of professionalism, integrity, respect, and honor.
