As technology continues to move forward, so is the mission of our office to stay current on new and innovative ways of policing. The sheriff's office is currently in the process of upgrading its Records Management System which houses the departments critical data. This upgrade will allow our deputies and personnel to utilize new features which have been previously updated like the ability to better forecast where crimes may occur based on patterns of data and being more in sync with our partners with the city on critical information exchange. Through recent funding, we have been able to purchase new laptops for each of our deputies in the field and outfitted all of their patrol cars with mobile internet. This allows the deputy who may be in a rural area to still have critical information at their disposal on a new computer when they cannot readily come into the office to search for information. Features such as mobile dispatching, better mapping, checking wanted person files, having access to warrant information are all features of the new Records Management System which will assist with officer safety.
