Patrol Division:

Welcome to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division.

The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division serves the 112,000 permanent residents of Sumter County with a patrol force of just over forty sworn personnel. Under the command of Captain Eddie Hobbs, the Patrol Division is the most visible section of the Sheriff's Office. The division has the responsibility for providing law enforcement services to a county with approximately 686 square miles.

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the members of the patrol division perform a variety of duties, including investigations of minor crimes, routine traffic patrol and enforcement, and most importantly they are the first responders for calls to service.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division is a progressive, well-trained team of motivated individuals with a keen desire to help and serve the communities in which they live.
