Warrants Division

The Warrants division is under the direction of Capt. Anthony Bradford and has eight other officers who assist in work load.   The division is a combination of several different areas of civil processing.  The division is broken down into several areas which better serve the county.

By law, the Sheriff's Office is mandated to serve all civil papers received from any court of record.   This is a mammoth task when you look at all aspects of this division.   They strive to serve all papers in the most efficient and professional manner.

The Division averages around 6600 warrants and 9000 civil papers served a year.

The Sumter County Family Court Division is responsible for the service of civil documents from various departments and agencies throughout South Carolina and Sumter County. Capt. Anthony Bradford is the commander of this unit, which has eight additional personnel.   This unit is responsible for the security of the court room and serving many different types of documents:

• Decree of Divorce
• Child Support
• Protection Orders
• Restraining Orders
• Bench Warrants
• Property removal
• Subpoena
• Summons & Complaints
• Petitions
• Pickup orders

This unit also strives to serve all documents in a timely and professional manner.   The unit was awarded Best Family Court Unit in the state of South Carolina in 2000.   They strive hard to keep this image and find better ways to serve the community.
