The grants writer for Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for researching and applying for local, state and federal grant funding.
Sumter County Sheriff's Office has received more than $100,000 in grants. Those funds were used for:
- Upgrading the security camera system at the local detention center;
- Updating officer body cameras;
- In-car patrol cameras; and
- Paying off-duty deputies and correctional officers to fight the litter problem in Sumter County.
The grants writer is also responsible for ensuring program guidelines are followed after grants are awarded.
